“Ask my wife, she knows I’m a homebody” – Bishop Obinim reveals

Founder and leader of the International God’s Way Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim, has revealed that he is naturally reserved and prefers spending most of his time indoors rather than going out.

Speaking during a church service, the preacher said his wife, Florence Obinim, can testify to his quiet lifestyle despite their current relationship status. He explained that he has always been someone who enjoys staying at home and only leaves when necessary, including for church activities.

Bishop Obinim recalled that during the period his wife and children lived outside the country, his frequent stay at home earned him the nickname “Mr Loneliness” from Florence Obinim.

“When Florence Obinim was living abroad for about three years, and all my children were also abroad, I was the only person living in the house. Whenever she called, I would tell her I was at home. She would ask why I was always in the house, and I would tell her I was lonely. From then on, anytime she called me, she would say, ‘Mr Loneliness,’” he said.

The founder of International God’s Way Church added that his lifestyle helped him remain focused during that period, saying he avoided actions that could go against his Christian beliefs.

“During that time, I could have gone out to sin or even brought a woman into the house, but that is not my character because of the evangelistic gift within me and the Holy Spirit living in me. I am not saying I have never sinned. I have sinned before, but all the mistakes I made came to an end in 2017,” he stated.

Bishop Obinim’s comments come as he continues to share personal reflections about his faith, marriage and experiences outside his public role as a pastor.
