Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has announced the formation of the Kumawood Ashanti Film Association as a key initiative aimed at revitalising the local film industry.
According to the Minister, the newly formed association has elected its leadership, who will serve on a board tasked with appointing a management team to oversee the daily operations of its secretariat.
Dr. Amoakohene described the development as a significant step toward repositioning Kumawood for sustainable growth, enhanced unity, and long-term success.
He pledged his full support, along with that of the government, to help breathe new life into the local movie scene.
“I remain committed to supporting them as we work together to implement the other recommendations in the report, with the full backing of H.E. the President and the Hon. Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture.”
