Following the sad demise of the longest-serving monarch in British history, Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday, the Asante Kingdom ruled by His Royal Majesty, Otumfour Osei Tutu II has sent a condolence message to the royal family of the Queen Elizabeth II.
The message from Manhyia Palace (Office of Asantehene) copied to Her Excellency Harriet Thompson, British High Commissioner reads:
First Paragraph: “I am directed to convey the deepest condolence of His Majesty Otumfuor Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, and the entire Asante Kingdom on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the longest reigning monarch and cherished Head of the Commonwealth.”
Last paragraph: “In concert with the rest of Ghana and the millions across the Commonwealth of nations, the Asante Kingdom mourns with the Royal Family over the loss of this impregnable fortress. But we take solace in the knowledge that, in her legacy, there is a perpetual light that will shine the path to a desirable future.”
