Some Muslim brothers in the Kumasi Zongo communities of the Ashanti Region led by former US organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Ali Suraj has chastised the Member Of Parliament (MP) for Subin Constituency, Eugene Boakye over his tribal and religious comments against Northerners and Muslims.
The Subin lawmaker speaking on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, Friday, April 28, 2023, argued that the NPP has always won power through the votes of Akan and Christians dominated areas and not Muslim and Northerners communities.
Responding to Eugene’s assertion in a presser, some Muslim brothers in Zongo communities in Kumasi led by Alhaji Ali Suraj described his comments as alien in the Ghanaian political environment.
Alhaji Ali Suraj said the NPP which had only four seats in the Northern Region in 2012 gained thirteen (13) more seats in 2016. This was by the tremendous influence or contribution of Dr Bawumia, a Muslim and Northerner.
He further said the NPP was formed by committed members from various tribes in the country coming from the northern part down to the southern region who believes in the one who can deliver not basically on the religious and tribal background.
For this reason, the Subin MP should come out and apologize to the good people of Zongo communities and Muslim brothers and sisters to redeem his image or retire from Ghanaian politics forever.
