The leadership of the Peasant Farmers Association of Ghana has as a matter of urgency called on Sammy Gyamfi —NDC National Communications Officer to render an unqualified apology to all farmers in the country.
The farmers say Sammy’s failure to do so will compel them to effect legal actions against him.
Speaking to journalists, in Techiman, Nana Ameyaw Manu who is the Vice President of the Association and CEO of Techiman Eleven Wonders said it’s unfortunate for politicians to do politics with the prices of farm produce.
According to him Sammy Gyamfi recently in his last press conference said the price of one bag of common maize is GH450.00 due to economic hardship in the country.
Nana Ameyaw who expressed displeasure over Sammy’s comments added that farmers become rich when they get good and higher prices for their farm produce hence no political party can determine prices of farm produce rather it depends on demand and supply on the market.
The vice-chairman stated that the association will never hesitate to take legal action against the NDC national communication officer should he disregard the farmer’s call.
He however charged politicians to shun the politicisation of Agric-related issues in the country.
