The Anidaso Foundation has organized a heartwarming event for over a hundred widows in the Weija-Gbawe constituency in the Greater Accra Region.
The event, which featured good food, assorted drinks, and a fun-filled program, was aimed at bringing joy and recognition to the widows who have lost their loved ones. The widows were treated to a dancing competition, music singing, and various fun games, which brought smiles to their faces.
Pastor Maxwell H. Djombo, the patron of the foundation emphasized that the get-together was their small way of acknowledging the widows’ presence in society and bringing joy to their lives.
He hinted that in most parts of the country, widows are often marginalized and not recognized in society. “Widowhood or single parenting is not a fault of any individual, but rather a natural cause or accident.” He urged all Ghanaians to get closer to widows and see them as their own, emphasizing that anyone can find themselves in a similar situation.
Ing. Daniel Awotwi, a key figure in the Anidaso Foundation, praised the organization’s commitment to supporting the needy despite its relatively young age.
He revealed plans to organize skills training programs for widows in Weija-Gbawe, including soap making, baking, and beads making, to empower them to earn a living and care for their families.
Ing. Awotwi urged the widows to work hard and focus on their children’s future, emphasizing that they are their greatest assets, even in the midst of grief.
On his part, Madam Margaret Asamoah, Advisor to the Anidaso Foundation, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Pastor Maxwell H Djombo for his visionary leadership in recognizing and supporting widows.
Speaking to the news team, she highlighted the foundation’s joy in serving the widows and called on all Ghanaians to emulate this spirit of compassion.
