Ghanaian music’s latest clash between dancehall star Livingstone Etse Satekla, known as Stonebwoy, and rapper Michael Owusu Addo, popularly known as Sarkodie, has moved from social media exchanges to the release of a private WhatsApp conversation.
The latest development came after Stonebwoy suggested that Sarkodie’s camp had previously approached his team about appearing together at the 2025 edition of the BHIMFest concert.
Responding to the claims, Angel Town, Sarkodie’s longtime manager, said he had no problem contacting Stonebwoy or his representatives when necessary but insisted that the particular incident being discussed did not happen in the manner Stonebwoy portrayed it.
“Only because my name has actually been mentioned now, let me just do the needful and set the record straight… I’ll reach out any day regardless if need be, I don’t mind that at all, but in this context just state facts… don’t lie on my name,” Angel Town said.
He then posted screenshots of his WhatsApp exchange with Chief Stylzz, Stonebwoy’s manager, apparently seeking to provide evidence for his account of the events surrounding the proposed appearance.
In the conversation, Chief Stylzz appears to suggest dates for the two artistes to be at the same venue, writing: “Anyways… 24th be good for you? Make u pass thru and we do same 25th as well.”
Angel Town subsequently raised concerns about the short notice but indicated that he was still prepared to make the trip.
“Ok mk I have the conversation quick. My only concern be how it only be the next day nu cos Edo aaa pressure de come inside but I de come.”
The development directly challenges Stonebwoy’s earlier suggestion that Angel Town had initiated contact with Chief Stylzz over Sarkodie’s participation at BHIMFest.
Stonebwoy had maintained that collaboration between the two camps was never an issue, writing: “Doing shows together has never been a problem irrespective of who called. My last BHIMFEST at the stadium Angel called chief that y’all wanted to come through I didn’t disagree.”
With Angel Town now publicly releasing part of the private exchange, the disagreement has shifted from the two artistes’ positions to a dispute over who initiated the BHIMFest engagement and what exactly transpired behind the scenes.
