The District Chief Executive of Amansie South District in the Ashanti Region, Clement Opoku Gyamfi has praised the government of the Republic led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his Vice Dr Mahamadu Bawumia for developing his District in no time.
Some major developmental projects the District has seen since it was created in 2018 under the Akufo-Addo government include; a 25-kilometre road that links the district to other parts of the region, a new District Assembly complex, and a police station.
“My people have cried about bad roads for far too long. This is the main road that links the district capital to other parts of the country and we’ve cried unto the government for too long. Today the government is constructing it for us. This is coming from the NPP government, nobody else.” Clement Opoku Gyamfi told the media in an interview.
There has also been the construction of a twenty–seater capacity WC toilet facility at Manso Aponapong a community in the district.
The district has also received 2 unit KG blocks and a Mosque for the same Community (Manso Aponapong) while construction of the District Hospital from the government’s Agenda 111 flagship project and a Fire Service Station have already begun.
In his capacity as the District Chief Executive, Hon Opoku Gyamfi has purchased a brand new Nissan Navara pick–up for the assembly with the Internally Generated Fund (IGF) worth hundreds of thousands of cedis to facilitate movement of the assembly.
The government is still expected to construct a total of the 62-kilometre road in the district however, 25 kilometres out of this is expected to be completed in two months, according to Hon Clement Opoku Gyamfi.
Speaking to the media, Clement Opoku Gyamfi noted that, the new road is going to help farmers in the district transport their produce to the other part of the country with no delay while their food crops will also not get spoiled.
