The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called for calm among its members following the resignation of Mr. Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, a former flagbearer hopeful, from the Party.
The General Secretary of the NPP, Mr. Justin Koduah Frempong, has refuted allegations made by Alan Kyerematen that his supporters who held government appointments were being sidelined by the government. Mr. Frempong stated that if Alan Kyerematen had conducted a thorough investigation, he would have found that all ministers and government appointees who publicly declared their support for his candidacy were still in their positions and carrying out their duties without any interference from the presidency.
During a press conference held at the party’s headquarters in Accra, Lawyer Justin Koduah expressed his opinion that the current leadership of the NPP has never imposed a candidate on delegates, as claimed by Mr. Alan Kyerematen
He called on supporters of Mr Alan Kyerematen to see the see New Patriotic Party as one big family and therefore their efforts will be of great help in going into election 2024 to make history by breaking the 8-year mantra in Ghanaian politics.
Mr. Stephen Ayensu Ntim, the National Chairman of the Party on his side, urged all party faithful to remain calm because the New Patriotic Party is bigger than any individual and it will continue to soaring higher.
According to him, as a party member, not all that you seek will be granted to you, because at times it pays to wait. “It took me 21 good years of shed determination to get to where I am as a national chairman”, he said.
