President Akufo-Addo has nominated 26 new Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) to be voted on by Assembly members of their districts.
If approved by their respective Assemblies, they will assist President Nana Akufo-Addo at the local government level to finish his second term.
This follows the revocation of some 24 MMDCEs’ appointment.
“Pursuant to my letter of 2nd February 2024 and in accordance with article 243 (1) of the Constitution, I have made the following nominations to the office of Chief Executive of the following Municipal and District Assemblies, pending the approval by their respective assemblies,” the letter addressed to the Local Government Minister noted
