Driver of a timber truck carrying timber logs has died in an accident.
The accident occurred at a junction connecting the twons of Sankore, Kwapong, Kokooso, and Abuom.
The timber truck reportedly somersaulted after the driver lost control of the vehicle as it was navigating a curve.
According an eye witness, Boampong, the driver’s mate jumped off the truck before the collision happened after spotting the impending danger.
He allegedly counseled the driver to follow suit, but he insisted on bringing the brake-failing vehicle to a safe location.
“The driver attempted to open it when it reached a critical stage so he could jump off, but one of the longest logs trapped him and instantly killed him.
It took a few minutes for some residents to succeed in removing the driver from the rubble. The deceased’s remains have been deposited at the Goaso Municipal Hospital.
“Although the tragedy is unfortunate, the number of victims is fortunate. If it had occurred on a Thursday, which is a market day, the death rate may have been higher, the witness indicated
