Newmont Ghana Gold Limited has commissioned and handed over a modern Child Welfare Clinic (CWC) to St Elizabeth Hospital in the Asutifi South District of the Ahafo Region to boost child healthcare in the Hospital.
The clinic, intended to improve the quality of post-natal services in the area, was fitted with furniture and basic medical equipment.
Speaking at a mini durbar to commission the building, the Adontehene of Hwidiem, Baffour Kyei Anafi, said Nananom are ready to release land for the hospital to expand infrastructure, adding that they are forever grateful to Newmont.
He, however, advised the authorities of the hospital to do routine maintenance of the building for it to last longer.
The Medical Director at St Elizabeth Hospital, Dr Mohammed Umar Saana on his part expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the company and said the building will help improve health delivery
