A man has been shot dead during a joint military and police operation in Nkaseim, Ahafo Region, on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.
The deceased, identified only as Agya Yaw, is reported to be in his early thirties. His body has been deposited at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Hwidiem, while the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear, according to Adom News.
The operation was part of a broader security crackdown across Hwidiem, Goaso, Kenyasi, and nearby communities, following an attack on the National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS) taskforce.
Heavily armed military and police personnel were deployed to apprehend suspects believed to be involved in the assault on the taskforce near Bronikrom.
The intensified security presence led to a self-imposed curfew in the affected communities, with residents staying indoors for fear of potential clashes.
