Customers of Ghana Water Company Limited and Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) in Goaso, the capital of Ahafo Region have lamented the high tariffs imposed on them.
According to the consumers, the high tariffs will worsen their conditions of living.
The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) on Monday announced a 29.96 per cent and 8.3 per cent increase in water and electricity tariffs respectively, effective February 1.
Some consumers, who spoke to Oyerepa TV’s Sulley Dramani, said they will be worse off with this latest increment.
Some added, already there is a high cost of living in the region so the increment in utility will escalate the burden on individual households
The aggrieved consumers stated, the high tariffs will affect how they transact their business or may even collapse.
