The New Patriotic Party(NPP) has back the Attorney General prosecution procedures in the case between former Finance Minister and current minority leader of Parliament Cassiel Ato Forson and the state.
According to the NPP, the NDC and Ato Forson knows that per the evidence before the court there is no way they can escape prosecution and conviction, that is why they have targeted at bastardizing the judicial system preventing Ato Forson from standing trial.
Speaking at a press conference in response to the NDC call on Attorney General Mr Godfred Odame to resign from his position at NPP headquarters in Accra, National Organiser, Henry Nana Boakye opined that the AG would not resign and would continue to remain witty, resolute and focused in the delivery of his work.
He added that claims by NDC that Ato Forson’s prosecution is politically motivated is not true, because it is imperative to ask ” why is Ato Forson the only government official being prosecuted from all former NDC ministers from whom statements were taken”.
He is of the view that in the 4th Republic,
the current Attorney General, Godfred Yeboah, Dame, has been one of the most successful both in and out of Court.
According to Nana B, It is unacceptable, that Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, runs a commentary over the alleged tape calculated to prevent you the Ghanaian people from making your own deduction reasoned judgment.
He stated emphatically that the screenshots displayed, the alleged conversation is 26mins, the NDC schemed to play only 16 minutes.
He pointed to the extent that the NDC has doctored the tape they played and even on the Doctored tape, the Attorney General never requested the witness falsify, fabricate or concoct any evidence or testify in the prosecution’s favour.
