The Afari Military Hospital, a state-of-the-art 500-bed facility in the Ashanti Region, is slated for commissioning in August 2024, courtesy of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
According to Emmanuel Agyei Anhwere, Member of Parliament for Atwima Nwabiagya South, the hospital is nearing completion and will play a vital role in addressing the healthcare needs of the region.
The commissioning of the hospital is expected to bring much-needed relief to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, which has been experiencing congestion due to delays in the completion of major health projects in the region. Despite facing financial constraints, the project has resumed following a commitment from the government and is now approximately 95% complete.
During an appearance on the Oyerepa Breakfast Show with Nana Yaw Mensah Joel on Monday morning, Anhwere confirmed that the hospital will be commissioned in August 2024, marking a significant milestone in the project’s completion. This development is expected to have a positive impact on the healthcare landscape in the Ashanti Region.
”To cut long story shot Afari Military hospital will be commissioned by August 2024 and it will be commissioned by the flagbearer of the party Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia” he stated.
The hospital’s completion and commissioning have been repeatedly delayed, with several earlier deadlines missed, but it is now expected to be commissioned in August 2024
