Adjetey Anang supports Korle Bu Paediatric surgery unit with medical equipment
Veteran Ghanaian actor Adjetey Anang, widely known in the entertainment industry as “Pusher,” has extended a helping hand to the Paediatric Surgery Unit of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital through a major donation aimed at improving healthcare delivery for children.
The award-winning actor, alongside his wife, Elorm Anang, and members of their charity organisation, the “One-In-A-Million” Foundation, presented essential medical equipment and healthcare supplies to support the treatment and care of young patients at the facility.
The intervention, supported by Platinum Impex and Sigma Electronics, forms part of the foundation’s broader commitment to improving healthcare services for women and children across Ghana.
Items donated included a Sigma air conditioner, a Sigma water dispenser, three infusion pumps, two central line kits, examination gloves, IV dressings, and several 17-litre water dispenser bottles.
Receiving the items on behalf of the hospital, the Head of the Paediatric Surgery Unit, Dr. Glover Addy, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the foundation and described the gesture as one that goes beyond a simple donation.
According to him, the support represents renewed hope for children and families who depend on the unit for specialised medical care.
He further explained that the infusion pumps, central line kits, and other supplies would play a vital role in enhancing treatment and improving healthcare outcomes for patients at the facility, assuring the donors that the equipment would be put to good use.
The items were officially received by Deputy Chief Nursing Officer Joyce Bright Baidoo in the presence of the Head of Surgery, Dr. Patrick Bankah, as well as other members of staff of the hospital.
Dr. Bankah also praised the “One-In-A-Million” Foundation for its intervention, noting that the donation would help ease critical challenges confronting the facility while improving paediatric and surgical healthcare services.
Beyond his successful acting career, Adjetey Anang has increasingly earned admiration for his philanthropic efforts through the “One-In-A-Million” Foundation, which continues to champion support for vulnerable groups and healthcare institutions across the country.
As part of its healthcare support initiative, the foundation allows individuals to contribute as little as GH¢1 daily through partnerships with IT Consortium and Chango. The contributions are then used to provide hospitals with life-saving medical equipment and essential healthcare supplies.
Management of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital expressed gratitude to the foundation for the timely support and encouraged continued collaboration to improve healthcare delivery for both patients and healthcare workers.
