According to reports, the Accra High Court Commercial Division has ordered the sale of two luxurious mansions owned by former Ghanaian football star Michael Essien. The properties, located at Stephen Quarshie Crescent, East Legon, and Trassaco (Phase 2) Adjiringano, Accra, are valued at millions of dollars.
An auctioneer, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed the court order, estimating that one of the properties is worth between $20 million and $30 million. While the details of the court process remain unclear, reports suggest that Essien has been facing financial difficulties, including unpaid loans.
The sale of the properties is being handled by the Deputy Sheriff of the High Court. The exact circumstances leading to the court’s decision are yet to be disclosed.
