A tragic incident has shaken the Offinso Achiase community in the Ashanti Region, resulting in the deaths of three members of the same family.

The incident occurred on Monday, February 16, 2026, following a domestic dispute that escalated into violence. According to sources, a 21-year-old man allegedly attacked and killed his mother during a misunderstanding.

A brother of the suspect, identified as Kofi, reportedly confronted him during the altercation but was also killed in the process.

The suspect was later found dead under unclear circumstances, with reports indicating he may have been attacked in retaliation for the earlier killings.

Police have been notified and investigations are underway to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

The tragedy has left residents in shock, with many calling for strengthened community support systems and security measures to help prevent similar occurrences.

In a separate development the same day, one person lost their life in a road accident on the Kumasi-Offinso Highway.

The crash occurred at Anyinasuso near Offinso when an articulated truck travelling from Aboffuor toward Kumasi reportedly lost control and collided with three vehicles.

A Toyota Vitz was said to be the most severely affected. The driver sustained injuries, while a passenger was confirmed dead. Another person is reported to be in critical condition.

Police have taken control of the accident scene and have commenced investigations. The injured and the deceased have been conveyed to the Offinso hospital for medical attention and further procedures.
