One suspect, Akoto Ansah has been arrested by Police at Amoah-Apagya in the Afigya Kwabere South district of the Ashanti Region.
The culprit and other five including a prophetess who have escaped decided to kill and burry a one and half year old baby at a Cocoa farm near the Apagya community.
The suspected criminals are alleged to be Sakawa boys or ritualist who wanted to kill the victim for money rituals.
An eyewitness, Mr Paul Amoh Ackah who is Apagya Committee Chairman narrating the incident to Oyerepafmonline.com said that some residents of his community informed him yesterday that, some aliens of about five together with a prophetess, suspected to be ritualists had besieged the community. Their actions were questionable so they suspected that, they were planning to kill the baby who was with them.
Nana Owusu Peprah II, Chief of Amoah-Apagya who also spoke to this portal said, he quickly informed the police immediately the committee chairman told him about the foregoing.
The police and some residents started to monitor the movement of the suspected criminals.
The chief said, around 9:30 PM on Thursday, the police numbering 2 amongst some residents went into a nearby cocoa farm where the criminals have dug two holes of about 5 feet believed to be the place of burial for the baby.
The criminals upon seeing them took to their heels but Akoto Ansah who hails from the community was arrested in the early hours of Friday.
Inspector James N. Tabus, Apagya Police Station Officer who confirmed the incident to this portal said, the suspect Akoto Ansah, is in Kodie police custody assisting the police for a thorough investigation.
The pursuant to fish out the prophetess and her accomplices also ongoing.
However, the baby has not been discovered as of now.
In other news, acouple of months ago, a bread seller was kidnapped in the same community but she managed to escape after her kidnapers transported her to Accra to kill her and some others.
