Residents of Kokoso, in the Bantama sub metro of the Ashanti region have strongly vowed to vote against the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over the deplorable state of a bridge which has turned to a death trap in the township.
According to them, the main bridge that link Kokoso to Bohyen has been washed away by flood.
“This bridge has spoilt for the past ten years. We always have to remove our shoes to cross river ‘Akosuah’ to the main road to be able to board a car”. Resident said.
Some traders also expressed their worry on the high rate of crime in the area.
“The state of the bridge has affected trading here. We can’t send foodstuffs to the market. Armed robbers always attack us because no car can cross the river so we have to walk.” The Traders lamented.
A group of concerned residents appealed to the government to come to their aid.
“We are appealing to the government once again. Efforts to reach the Member of Parliament (MP) Hon. Asanso Boakye yielded no results. NPP should forget 2024 if the bridge is not constructed immediately. We promise to vote against them”. A concerned resident told Oyerepa Online.
