The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has praised the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, describing him as a modern-day King Solomon in recognition of his wisdom and outstanding contribution to peace and national cohesion.
The commendation was made during a historic visit by the Asantehene to the Police Headquarters in Accra on Tuesday, January 6.
Mr. Yohuno said Otumfuo’s calm leadership style, moral authority and patience have played a decisive role in resolving some of Ghana’s most long-standing and complex conflicts, helping to restore stability in areas previously plagued by tension.
He cited the Asantehene’s mediation in the Dagbon chieftaincy dispute, as well as his interventions in Yendi and the protracted Bawku conflict, noting that these peace efforts have significantly complemented police operations and enhanced public trust in national security institutions.
“Your exceptional mediation skills, which have restored peace in numerous conflicts across our nation, compel me to describe you as the King Solomon of our time,” the IGP said.
