President John Dramani Mahama has eulogized the late Madam Deborah Wengam, describing her as a good woman whose womb was blessed by God.
In his tribute, President Mahama referenced the Bible, saying “as the Bible said in Luke 1.42, Elizabeth told Mary, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb”.
Madam Wengam, the mother of Reverend Stephen Wengam, General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, was laid to rest on January 25, 2025.
President Mahama praised her for raising a “man gifted with divine actions,” noting that Reverend Wengam’s humility, loyalty, and God-fearing nature have earned him many friends, including himself and his wife Lordina.
The President’s tribute was part of a funeral service attended by dignitaries and a huge delegation from the international community. Reverend Wengam also delivered a heartfelt tribute to his mother, reflecting on the profound impact she had on his life.
