Ghanaian actor Emmanuel Nii Adom Quaye, popularly known as Strika, has reportedly found himself at the centre of controversy after a video emerged appearing to show him being confronted by residents at the Kwashieman footbridge in Accra.

The footage circulating on social media shows the former child star at the footbridge, surrounded by a group of people who appear to be questioning him over an alleged attempt to remove metal railings from the public structure.

Reports accompanying the video claim Strika was trying to dismantle portions of the railing, with suggestions that the metal could have been sold as scrap. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident and the allegations have not been independently established from the material available.

The development has generated concern among social media users, particularly because of Strika’s extraordinary journey from international child actor to his current struggles in the public eye.

Strika shot to global prominence after portraying Bang-Bang, a child soldier, in the 2015 Netflix war drama Beasts of No Nation, where he acted alongside British star Idris Elba. His performance earned him international recognition and positioned him as one of Ghana’s promising young acting talents.

The latest incident has consequently revived conversations about the challenges faced by child stars after achieving early fame, while also prompting calls for caution until the allegations surrounding the Kwashieman incident are fully established.
