Shatta Wale reveals he has an 8-year-old son living in London
Ghanaian dancehall musician Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., popularly known as Shatta Wale, has disclosed that he has an eight-year-old son living in London, a child he says was born from an unexpected pregnancy.
The musician made the revelation during an interview while speaking about his children. Although he initially estimated the boy’s age at seven or eight, he eventually settled on eight years.
“I have a son in London. He’ll be like 7 or 8,” he said, adding, “Like eight years ago. I didn’t plan this one.”
Shatta Wale explained that the child was conceived after a brief encounter with the boy’s mother, saying the pregnancy came as a surprise to him.
“It was with a girl I just met one time, next thing I know she said she was pregnant. I didn’t plan for it. I’m a victim,” he said.
Despite the circumstances surrounding the pregnancy, the On God hitmaker said he remains connected to both the child and his mother.
The revelation adds another chapter to Shatta Wale’s much-discussed personal life. He is publicly known to have children including Cherissa, Majesty and Leandra.
When asked whether he would consider expanding his family further, Shatta Wale suggested that he is now taking precautions to avoid another unplanned pregnancy.
“No, I don’t. Now, I’m being careful with sex,” he said.
The musician’s comments have since drawn attention to his approach to fatherhood and the circumstances surrounding the birth of his London-based son.
