GSA records 271% surge in surplus to GHc258.3m in 2025
The Ghana Shippers’ Authority (GSA) recorded a significant improvement in its financial performance in 2025, posting a net surplus of GH¢258.30 million, up from GH¢69.52 million the previous year.
The figure represents a 271.52% increase and places the Authority among the better-performing state-owned enterprises featured in the 2025 State Ownership Report by the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA).
GSA’s total income also increased substantially during the year, reaching GH¢380.15 million, compared with about GH¢200 million in 2024.
The Authority’s surplus margin improved considerably as well, rising from 36.25% in 2024 to 67.95% in 2025.
The strong financial results point to improved revenue generation and tighter management of operational costs during the year.
GSA’s financial position also strengthened, with total assets reaching GH¢979.92 million and its accumulated fund increasing to GH¢810.46 million.

The Authority plays a key role in Ghana’s trade and logistics sector, with its mandate including the protection and promotion of the interests of shippers across the country’s transport and trade chain.
Its role has become increasingly important amid growing activities at Ghana’s ports and within the haulage and logistics industry.
The latest figures highlight a notable improvement in GSA’s financial position and performance, according to data contained in SIGA’s assessment of state-owned entities for the 2025 financial year.
