The Deputy National Women’s Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hajia Safia Mohammed, has officially filed her nomination to contest for the substantive position of National Women’s Organiser in the party’s 2026 National Officers Elections.

Addressing a mammoth crowd of party supporters at the NPP headquarters after filing, Hajia Safia vowed to help the party reclaim its lost parliamentary seats, particularly the Awutu Senya seat, if elected.

She said her main focus will be to re-energize the women’s wing of the party to make it more vibrant, united and formidable ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Hajia Safia underscored the crucial role of women in Ghana’s electoral fortunes, noting that women constitute about 51 to 52 percent of the country’s population and therefore wield significant influence in determining the outcome of elections.

She therefore called on party faithful to eschew self-interest, personal differences and petty squabbles, and rally together in unity for the greater interest of the NPP.

According to her, unity and hard work within the women’s wing will be key to the party’s comeback and victory in 2028.
