Residents in parts of the Ashanti Region are expected to experience a six-hour power interruption on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, as the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) undertakes scheduled maintenance.
The exercise is expected to take place between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. and forms part of efforts by the power distributor to improve the reliability and quality of electricity supply in the affected areas.
ECG said the planned work would temporarily affect a number of communities and adjoining areas across the region.
Among the areas scheduled to experience the interruption are Effiduase, Apemso, Asekyerewa, the Senkyi enclaves, Asenua and parts of Ahwiaa.
Other affected locations include Overseas, Maase, Simms SHS, parts of Fawoade, Adumakase Kese, Wawase and Meduma.
The company said the maintenance exercise is necessary to strengthen its network and improve service delivery.
ECG has therefore urged residents and businesses in the affected areas to make the necessary arrangements ahead of the scheduled interruption.
