“I wouldn’t get angry if my girlfriend left me for a woman” – Ruger

Nigerian Afrobeats singer Michael Adebayo Olayinka, widely known as Ruger, has left fans debating his views on relationships after revealing that he would not necessarily become angry if his girlfriend chose another woman over him.

The singer made the comments during an interview while discussing his latest single, “She Don’t Like Men,” when he was asked how he would handle such a situation.

“I won’t be pissed if a girl took my girlfriend,” Ruger said.

When the interviewer suggested that such a development should provoke an emotional reaction, the singer said he would prefer to bring the two women together and have a conversation.

“I’ll be like, ‘Both of you sit down here. I think we should have a discussion about this,’” he said.

Ruger further insisted that he would not be bothered by his partner moving on with another woman.

“I don’t care… I’m not going to be pissed, honestly,” he added.

Asked what he expected to come out of the proposed discussion, the singer responded humorously: “More fun for us. We’ll be happy together.”

His comments have triggered divided reactions online, with some interpreting them as a joke linked to the playful nature of his interview, while others have taken his unusual relationship stance more seriously. Either way, Ruger’s remarks have added another layer of conversation around the themes explored in his new music.
