Kumawood actor Samuel Seth Kyere, popularly known as Okomfo Kolegae, has rejected claims that he belongs to the Freemasonry organisation after images allegedly linking him to the group surfaced online.

The actor addressed the controversy in a Facebook statement on Thursday, August 20, 2026, explaining that the photographs being circulated had been digitally altered without his consent.

According to Okomfo Kolegae, his original pictures were manipulated to create the impression that he had joined or was promoting Freemasonry, a claim he firmly rejected.

“Please be informed that someone is using my photos without my permission and digitally editing them to make it appear that I am associated with Freemasonry. Let me state this clearly: I am NOT a member of Freemasonry, and I have not authorised anyone to use my image to promote, advertise, recruit, or make statements on behalf of any such organisation,” he said.

The actor further urged his followers not to interact with social media accounts or messages using his name or photographs in connection with the claims.

“I strongly advise everyone not to engage with, believe, or share any account or message using my identity for this purpose,” he cautioned.

Okomfo Kolegae said the alleged misuse of his identity could damage the reputation he has built through his acting career. He disclosed that steps were being taken to report the accounts involved and deal with the issue.

“My image and reputation are part of my brand, and I take impersonation and the unauthorised use of my photos very seriously. The necessary steps are being taken to report the accounts and address the matter. Please share this post so nobody is misled. Thank you for your understanding and continued support,” he concluded.

His clarification comes amid growing concerns over digitally manipulated images and impersonation on social media, with the actor urging the public to verify such claims before sharing them.
