Full List: Newly elected NPP Regional Chairmen
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has elected new regional executives across the country as part of efforts to reorganise its structures and strengthen its grassroots base ahead of the 2028 general elections.
The regional executive elections were held on Saturday, August 15, with several chairmanship contests producing closely fought races.
Based on provisional results announced by Electoral Commission officials who supervised the elections, the following candidates emerged as regional chairmen:
- Western Region: Ignatius Kwesi Afrifa
- Savannah Region: Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana
- Bono Region: Kwame Baffoe Abronye
- Greater Accra Region: Dr Bernard Okoe Boye
- Ashanti Region: Odeneho Kwaku Appiah
- Eastern Region: Jeff Konadu Addo
- Central Region: Joseph Kobinah Esibu
- Western North Region: Result pending
- Ahafo Region: Robert Sarfo Mensah
- Northern Region: Mohammed Baatima Adam (Samba)
- North East Region: Alhaji Mohammed Fuseini
- Upper East Region: Elvis Figo Awonekai
- Upper West Region: Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahman
- Volta Region: Makafui Kofi Woanyah
- Oti Region: Dr Frank Yirenkyi
- Bono East Region: Ibrahim Bukari Baba
The elections form part of the NPP’s wider reorganisation programme aimed at strengthening its regional structures, reconnecting with grassroots supporters and positioning the party for the 2028 general elections.
The newly elected chairmen are expected to work with their respective regional executives to drive party mobilisation, strengthen grassroots engagement and coordinate preparations for the next general election.
The outcome of the elections is expected to shape the party’s regional mobilisation strategy as the NPP seeks to rebuild and consolidate its structures ahead of the 2028 polls.
