Ghanaian musician Peter Famiyeh Bozah, popularly known as Fameye, has spoken candidly about the emotional burden of growing up without parental support, revealing that the absence of his parents remains one of the deepest struggles he has faced.

In an interview with media personality Kobby Kyei, Fameye reflected on moments when controversies surrounding him became difficult to handle and said he often wished he had parents who could publicly stand up for him when he was under pressure.

“We see parents fighting for their children online all the time. Some people think it’s not good, but some of us also want that. I wish when an issue about me comes up, a parent would come online and talk for me,” he said.

The “Nothing I Get” hitmaker said he has instead had to endure his challenges privately, often breaking down emotionally without family members stepping forward to support him.

“Have you ever seen any family members of mine do that before? No one. I always have to hustle and do everything by myself behind the scenes, and I cry,” he added.

Fameye also described the arrival of his first child as one of the periods when he felt the absence of his parents most strongly. He said he and his partner had to raise the child without the help of either parent.

“Another darkest time was when my first child was born. Where was my mum? Where was my dad who would also come and take care of my baby? I was doing it myself. I did everything with my woman, just us two,” Fameye recalled.

He further revealed that he sometimes wishes he had a mother or father he could financially support, especially after making substantial income from performances.

“Even now I can go for shows and make so much money, and I will only wish there’s a parent who calls me and says, ‘My son, I need money,’ so I can just send some to her,” he said.

Although Fameye has built a successful career despite the challenges, he admitted that the absence of his parents continues to weigh heavily on him.

“All these things bother me, but I can’t do anything about them,” he said.

His revelation offers a more personal glimpse into the struggles behind the success of the musician, whose journey from hardship to becoming one of Ghana’s recognised music acts has been marked by both personal and professional challenges.
