NPP Sets October 3 for National Executives Elections; Chairmanship Nomination Fee Pegged at GH¢50,000

The New Patriotic Party has scheduled October 3, 2026, for its National Executives Elections, with nomination fees ranging from GH¢50,000 for the chairmanship position to GH¢8,000 for the party’s special wings.

Announcing the timetable at a press conference, Opare Ansah, Chairman of the National Election Committee, said the process will begin next week with the opening of nominations from August 17 to 22, 2026. Filing of nomination forms will take place from August 23 to 27.

Vetting of aspirants is slated for September 1 to 3, with results to be published on September 5. Appeals will be received on September 6 and 7, and on September 10 the National Executive Committee and National Council will meet to approve qualified aspirants.

A notice of poll will be issued on September 14 ahead of the elections on October 3. The exercise will be supervised by the National Elections Committee in collaboration with the Electoral Commission.

Nomination Fees
– National Chairman: GH¢50,000
– Vice Chairpersons: GH¢30,000
– General Secretary: GH¢25,000
– All other positions: GH¢10,000
– Special wings — Nasara, Women, and Youth: GH¢8,000

Opare Ansah urged all prospective aspirants and stakeholders to take note of the dates, stressing that the committee will strictly adhere to the timetable to ensure an orderly process leading to the national delegates conference.

He also cautioned aspirants to conduct themselves with decorum and avoid insults during the campaign period.
