Tima Kumkum confirms marriage has ended after 21 months
Ghanaian media personality Cynthia Tima Yeboah, popularly known as Tima Kumkum, has confirmed that her marriage has broken down after one year and nine months, bringing months of speculation about her relationship status to an end.
The broadcaster disclosed that she and her husband, Kofi Asamoah, have been living apart since April 1, 2025, while their divorce case is currently before the court.
Tima explained that she initially chose not to speak publicly about the separation because she wanted to keep the circumstances surrounding the breakdown of the marriage private. However, she said persistent public interest eventually prompted her to address the matter.
“We don’t live together. I’m unbothered by any criticism. We need to call a spade a spade. You can’t hide it forever. When I was getting married, everyone saw it, so if it has ended, they need to know,” she said.
The media personality described herself as “partially single” because the couple are separated but have yet to receive a legal divorce.
Tima Kumkum and her husband married on July 15, 2023, in a ceremony that attracted widespread attention, particularly on social media. She admitted that she never expected the relationship to end this way.
Despite the breakdown of the marriage, Tima acknowledged her estranged husband’s commitment to their child, describing him as a responsible father who continues to provide care and support.
She also opened up about the emotional toll of the separation, saying she has gradually moved forward despite the difficulties and public reactions to posts from the period when she was still married.
With the matter now before the court, Tima said she is concentrating on her personal growth and the future rather than another marriage. She remains optimistic about the next chapter of her life as she approaches her 39th birthday.
