“Florence Obinim is someone I respect, not my friend” – Osebo

Ghanaian fashion entrepreneur Richard Brown, popularly known as Osebo the Zaraman, has sought to clear the air about his relationship with gospel musician Florence Obinim, wife of Bishop Daniel Obinim, insisting that the two are not friends.

According to Osebo, his connection with the gospel singer is limited to admiration for her music and a brief encounter that resulted in his appearance in a promotional video for one of her projects.

He explained that Florence Obinim visited his shop with media personality Gladys Nayas Boakye, known as Nayas, to shoot the video, after which he did not pursue any personal relationship with her.

“Florence Obinim is not my friend. She is a woman I respect a lot and I love her because of her music. The second time that I saw her was when she came to my shop with Nayas, for me to be in her video, which I did. I don’t even have her number. What am I using her number for? She is not my friend. After she came to my office for the video, even then I haven’t taken her number to call her before. Someone’s wife, what am I going to call her for?” he stated.

Osebo’s clarification follows comments by Bishop Daniel Obinim, founder of International God’s Way Church, who previously expressed displeasure over his wife’s appearance in a promotional video involving the fashion personality.

Obinim indicated that he was unhappy with the association because of his existing differences with Osebo. Florence Obinim subsequently explained that her decision to involve Osebo in the project was not motivated by any improper intention.

While addressing the controversy, Osebo maintained that he holds Florence Obinim in high regard as a musician but sees no reason for their relationship to extend beyond that.

He also criticised the tendency of social media users to form conclusions based on limited information, arguing that people often comment on issues without understanding what actually happened.

His latest comments appear aimed at putting an end to speculation about his relationship with Florence Obinim, while making it clear that his admiration for her music should not be mistaken for a personal or romantic association.
