“I’m back on your screens” – Agya Koo returns to movie set
Veteran Ghanaian actor Alexander Kofi Adu, popularly known as Agya Koo, has made a U-turn on his earlier decision to leave the movie industry, announcing his return to acting.
The Kumawood star revealed that he has already resumed filming and is currently working on a new production that will soon be released.
Agya Koo explained that although he had previously considered bringing his acting career to an end, he eventually changed his mind after reconsidering his decision.
“I initially wanted to retire from acting, but I reconsidered. Right now I am shooting a movie, and the movie will soon be out. You will see strong performances from me,” the veteran actor stated.
He further indicated that his comeback will not be limited to a single production, assuring his supporters that more movies are in the pipeline.
“So I am back, more movies are coming, you will see me live and coloured,” he added.
Agya Koo became one of the most recognisable faces of Ghana’s Kumawood era, particularly during the genre’s commercial rise in the 2000s, earning a reputation for his distinctive comic delivery and energetic performances.
His decision to return to the screen is therefore likely to excite fans who have followed his career and have long associated him with some of the most memorable productions of Ghana’s movie industry.
