Tragedy has struck Kasoa in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region following the death of a herbal doctor and Chief Executive Officer of Antwi Herbal and Spiritual Centre, Dr Felix Antwi Dankwa, in a fire at his residence.

The incident occurred at about 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, while Dr Antwi Dankwa was reportedly asleep in one of the bedrooms.

According to information gathered by Nana Ansah, his wife and some workers were occupying other rooms in the house when they detected smoke and attempted to escape.

The wife and the other occupants reportedly managed to get out of the building, but Dr Antwi Dankwa was allegedly trapped in his room and was later found dead after the fire had been extinguished.

His remains were reportedly burnt beyond recognition.

Sources indicate that Dr Antwi Dankwa and his wife had allegedly been experiencing marital disputes for several years, with the couple reportedly visiting the Kasoa Police Division on multiple occasions for intervention and settlement.

The latest disagreement reportedly resulted in both parties being invited to the Kasoa Police Division on Monday, August 10, 2026.

According to the sources, the disagreement nearly escalated into a physical confrontation before the police intervened.

The police subsequently directed the couple to appear before a court on Tuesday, August 11.

However, in the early hours of the same day, Dr Antwi Dankwa was reportedly trapped in the fire that engulfed his residence.

The circumstances surrounding the fire remain unclear, although some residents have raised suspicions and pointed fingers at the deceased’s wife.

The allegations, however, have not been established, and there is currently no confirmed evidence linking her to the incident.

The Kasoa Police have reportedly invited the wife for questioning as investigations continue to determine the cause of the fire and the circumstances surrounding Dr Antwi Dankwa’s death.
