A marriage dispute has taken a dramatic turn after a nurse, identified as Vida, rejected repeated pleas from her husband, James Arhin, to return to their marriage following allegations of infidelity and neglect.

The couple made their positions known on ‘Oyerepa Afutuo’, hosted by Auntie Naa, on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, with James appealing publicly for his wife’s forgiveness while Vida insisted she was no longer interested in the marriage.

James, a mason and father of one, admitted that his wife caught him with another woman on their matrimonial bed, although he claimed they were not being intimate at the time.

“I am James Arhin. I’m married to a nurse. My wife caught me with another woman on our matrimonial bed. It was not like we were having intimacy, though. I got angry at her. I’m a mason, and we have a child together. I have apologised to her for the past three months, but she has decided not to marry me again. I have run to people she really respects, but to no avail. She is not ready to come back. Please plead on my behalf,” he said.

However, Vida gave a different account of the circumstances that led to the breakdown of their marriage, accusing her husband of repeatedly neglecting her and being involved with other women.

“Ma, if I say the kind of things this man has done to me, you won’t believe it. I am a nurse and was posted to Kunsu, but I sell food at night to add to the income of the family. Sometimes, I will call my husband and he will never pick up. He won’t return my calls either,” she said.

According to Vida, James’ work sometimes kept him away from home for months, leaving her to make efforts to maintain the relationship.

“Because of his work, he can leave home for almost three months before coming back home. He won’t give me attention. I come home every weekend to see him,” she added.

She recounted one particular incident when she returned home unexpectedly and found another woman in their bedroom.

“There was this day I was coming home and I called several times, but he didn’t pick up my calls. When I got home, I realised he was bathing while a woman’s slippers were in front of our room. When I entered, there was a lady sitting on our matrimonial bed,” Vida alleged.

She said she remained calm and asked the woman to leave her husband alone.

“I didn’t do anything. I just greeted her and told her to stop whatever she was doing with my husband because she is also a woman just like me,” she said.

Vida further alleged that instead of addressing the situation, James became angry with her and later slapped her when she attempted to resolve the matter.

“When my husband got back from the bathroom, he got angry that I didn’t call him before coming and took the lady outside. He didn’t say anything to me, so the next day, I went down on my knees to apologise to him to let go of everything so we could stay together and prevent people from knowing anything about our marriage. He got angry and slapped me instead,” she alleged.

She also claimed to have previously found clothing belonging to another woman among their belongings, which she said further deepened her suspicions about her husband’s conduct.

“At work, he called and enquired about the things, saying that if I had taken those things to do something to his girlfriend, he could let his girlfriend also take my dresses to do anything spiritual to me,” she alleged.

Despite James’ continued attempts to reconcile, Vida maintained that she had made up her mind to end the marriage.

“As of now, I have quit the marriage. I am no more interested. Just a 26-year-old girl who is starting married life, and this is how you treat me? And you want me to stay? Never again,” she said.

James, however, continues to seek forgiveness, promising to change his conduct and restore the marriage. Vida remains firm in her decision not to return, leaving listeners divided, with some urging her to forgive her husband and others advising her to stand by her decision to leave.
