A father, Jacob Asare, has appealed for help in persuading his 15-year-old daughter, Paulina Asare, to return home after she reportedly left the family house to stay with a young man she describes as her boyfriend.

The issue was brought before ‘Oyerepa Afutuo’, hosted by Auntie Naa, on Monday, August 10, 2026, with Jacob expressing concern about his daughter’s decision to spend extended periods away from home.

According to Jacob, Paulina recently completed Junior High School with an aggregate of 8, and he had been preparing for her to continue her education when she began spending time away from home.

“Jacob Asare is my name. I’m from Wassa. I have a daughter called Paulina Asare who is 15 years old. She just completed JHS with a very good grade, aggregate 8 to be precise. After she completed, I was preparing to let her further her education, but she went away from home,” he said.

He alleged that whenever Paulina returned home, she sometimes took money from the family before leaving again. He also claimed that she had been given a ring which she believed offered her protection.

“Whenever my daughter comes home, she will steal money to give to the person she is befriending. I think they might be in Kumasi or Accra. I don’t know the man, but I have his contact. However, the man has blocked my number. I want my daughter back because I want her to have the beautiful future I could never get,” Jacob added.

When Paulina was contacted during the programme, she confirmed that she had chosen to stay away from home and said she was with someone she identified as her boyfriend.

“I come home. We are in Kumasi. I am staying with my boyfriend. He is called Caleb and is in the Eastern Region,” she said.

A 19-year-old man who identified himself as Kobby, and whom Jacob had linked to the situation, also spoke on the programme. He denied taking Paulina away and said he was in Asamankese in the Eastern Region.

“Mum, I haven’t taken her away. I am Kobby. I am in the Eastern Region, specifically Asamankese, not Pekyi in Kumasi. I’m 19 years. No, she is not pregnant,” he stated.

The programme concluded with an arrangement for Paulina and the young man involved to report to the premises of Oyerepa TV and Radio, accompanied by the boy’s family, so the matter could be addressed with both families present.

Jacob’s main concern remains getting his daughter back home and ensuring that she resumes her education and has the future he hopes for her.
