“I don’t know Buga Buga” — Fancy Gadam reacts to NPP chairman’s marriage to his ex-wife

Ghanaian musician Mohammed Fancy Gadam, popularly known as Fancy Gadam, has addressed reports surrounding the marriage between his former wife and Alhaji Osman Masawudu, also known as Chairman Buga Buga, the Third National Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The controversy emerged after claims circulated that Chairman Buga Buga had “snatched” the musician’s ex-wife, allegations that sparked public discussions on social media.

However, Fancy Gadam has dismissed any suggestion of conflict, explaining that he has never had a personal relationship with the NPP executive and does not consider him an adversary.

According to the Tamale-based artiste, his only knowledge of Chairman Buga Buga comes from social media, and he has never met him physically.

“I don’t know him. I’ve never met him. I’ve only seen him on social media as Buga Buga, and I don’t even know his real name. There’s nothing wrong with that. He’s not my enemy. Ebi normal,” Fancy Gadam stated.

The “Total Cheat” hitmaker added that he does not dwell on failed relationships, explaining that he prefers to leave when love and commitment are no longer mutual.

He also touched on marriage in Islam, noting that while Muslim men are permitted to marry up to four wives, it is not an obligation. Fancy Gadam cited his father’s marriage to four women as an example, saying it would not be unusual if he followed a similar path.

“My father married four, so it wouldn’t be taboo if I also marry four, but when they say Muslims can marry four, it is not compulsory,” he said.

Meanwhile, Alhaji Osman Masawudu (Chairman Buga Buga) has denied claims that he interfered in Fancy Gadam’s previous relationship, insisting that the marriage took place only after the musician and the woman had already separated.

He explained that Fancy Gadam had publicly acknowledged the end of their relationship before he later got involved with the woman.

Chairman Buga Buga further stated that he met the woman after her previous marriage had ended and proceeded with the union after completing the necessary traditional and legal processes.

The development has since generated public debate, but Fancy Gadam’s comments suggest that he has chosen not to attach controversy to his former relationship and has accepted the situation as part of life.
