President John Dramani Mahama on Monday evening visited the iconic Bob Marley Museum in Kingston, Jamaica, as part of his official visit to the Caribbean nation.

He was accompanied by Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness and the country’s Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, Olivia Grange.

Located on Old Hope Road in St. Andrew, the museum was once the home of reggae legend Bob Marley, whose music and message of freedom have made him an enduring cultural icon and liberation figure across Africa and the wider world.

The visit came after bilateral talks between President Mahama and Prime Minister Holness aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between Ghana and Jamaica.

Sharing details of the meeting in a social media post, Mr Holness highlighted the deep historical and cultural bonds between the two countries.

“As two nations with shared history and strong cultural connections, we continue to build on our partnership through South-South cooperation, expanding opportunities in trade, investment, and economic development,” Mr Holness said.

The Jamaican Prime Minister said their discussions focused on broadening cooperation and exploring new areas of mutual interest that would benefit both countries.

According to him, the leaders identified opportunities to deepen bilateral relations and create meaningful economic prospects for the people of Ghana and Jamaica.

Mr Holness added that he is optimistic about the future of the partnership.

“I look forward to the continued growth of this important partnership and the lasting benefits it will bring to Jamaica and Ghana,” he stated.
