TikToker Rita Konadu, popularly known as “Mamaone,” has broken her silence following her arrest by the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET) over alleged offensive and derogatory remarks directed at President John Dramani Mahama and First Lady Lordina Mahama.

In a video recorded while in police custody, the 49-year-old TikToker maintained her position and expressed strong support for her political party.

She stated: “The big six fought for their party, so me Mamaone, I will die for my party. God is my witness.”

Her comments reportedly drew reactions from some individuals at the court premises, with some heard criticising her conduct.

Footage from the scene showed her being escorted by police officers under heavy security arrangements.

Konadu, who uses the TikTok account name the_onlymamaone1, was arrested at Juaben in the Ashanti Region and later transported to Accra to assist with investigations and other legal procedures.

Her arrest forms part of a series of recent cases involving individuals accused of making offensive remarks about the President on social media platforms.

Another TikToker, Camila Alhassan, was previously arrested over similar allegations and subsequently appeared before the Accra Circuit Court.

On July 16, 2026, Camila pleaded guilty to offensive conduct and was sentenced to one year imprisonment with hard labour.

The Police explained that her TikTok content was considered capable of causing public unrest and threatening national cohesion, which influenced the charges brought against her.
