A marital dispute on Oyerepa Afutuo, hosted by Aunt Naa on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, took an unexpected turn when a man identified as Ernest and a woman named Aisha shared conflicting accounts about their 11-year relationship.

Ernest claimed he married Aisha and sacrificed greatly for their future, including acquiring land and building a house where he added her name. He alleged that while he often travelled to Accra for his masonry work, his wife secretly engaged in relationships with other men, including allegedly using their own home.

According to Ernest, he later decided to quit his work as a mason and support Aisha’s business so they could save enough money to buy him a car that would help him remain closer to her. However, he claimed he was shocked to discover that the vehicle was purchased for another man.

“My name is Ernest. I met a woman called Aisha and married her. Because of the nature of my work, I mostly travel to Accra to work. I am a mason. Unknowingly to me, my wife involved herself in extramarital affairs. What hurts most was that she used to do those things in my own house. When I asked about it, she denied it,” he said.

Continuing, he said, “Because I love her so much and do not want to suffer in my old age, I did everything possible to secure a land and added her name to it, which she was not aware of. I built the house later. She even discouraged me the first time I took her to see the land I bought because it was in a village.”

“Then we planned that, because I have to be closer to her, I would stop my mason work and help her in her business so that she saves enough to buy a car for me to work with. With that, I will be able to be close to her and also give her the support she needs. Then I realised she had bought the car for another man whom I know is the man she has been having extramarital affairs with,” he revealed.

Responding to the allegations, Aisha denied that she and Ernest were legally married, describing their relationship as a long-term partnership. She claimed she was responsible for financing the household and questioned why Ernest was raising concerns after allegedly saying he no longer wanted the relationship.

“Aunt Naa, I am the one who takes care of the house financially. He does not even give money for the house upkeep. We are not married. It is just a 9 to 10-year relationship. He said he does not want me anymore, so what is his problem?” she queried.

When asked about buying a car for another man, Aisha admitted that she gave the vehicle to her former partner, explaining that she only relied on him to drive it because she does not know how to drive.

“Yes, I bought the car. I gave it to my ex. I don’t know how to drive, so when I had to take the car home, I called my ex to help me drive it home. It is not on a bad note,” she admitted.

The matter took another dramatic twist when a woman identified as Dede called into the programme, claiming Ernest was actually her husband of 25 years and accusing him of abandoning her and their three children.

Dede alleged that Ernest had failed to support their family and warned viewers not to sympathise with him.

“That man sitting there is very wicked. I have married him for 25 years and have three kids with him. He does not look for us. He does not cater for us. His first child is 25 years old. They don’t even know him much. It is God who is punishing him. Do not sympathise with him. A very evil person,” Dede revealed.

The revelations left viewers stunned as the programme shifted from a dispute over alleged infidelity and property ownership into a wider controversy involving claims of a hidden marriage and family abandonment.
