Ghanaian actress and media personality Felicity Ama Agyemang, popularly known as Nana Ama McBrown, has revealed that she has accepted the fact that not everyone will appreciate or support her, saying she does not allow public opinions to determine her happiness.

Speaking in an interview with Kobby Kyei, the actress explained that she concentrates on living according to her values and making choices that bring her fulfilment rather than seeking approval from everyone.

“It depends on the person. As far as I am concerned, I live my life and do what makes me happy. Whether someone chooses to love me or not is entirely up to them. If they decide to love someone else, I cannot control that. It doesn’t bother me at all, and I don’t even think about it,” she said.

McBrown said she believes positivity comes from surrounding oneself with things that promote growth and happiness, instead of allowing negative comments to affect one’s peace of mind.

“When we talk about positive things, what exactly do we mean? They are the things you believe will help you and the things you do that bring you happiness. I believe that in this life, you should do things that make you happy,” she added.

The actress, who has remained one of Ghana’s most recognised entertainment personalities for years, added that nobody is beyond criticism, noting that expecting universal acceptance is unrealistic.

“There is nobody who is so righteous that they will never face any issues or criticism. There is an old saying that if everybody loves you, then something is wrong, so I don’t expect everyone to love me. I also don’t expect to live a perfect or completely righteous life forever. I believe that whatever happens is in God’s hands,” she concluded.

Nana Ama McBrown’s comments come amid ongoing public discussions about fame, social media criticism and the pressure celebrities face to maintain a positive image. She maintained that personal happiness and faith remain more important to her than seeking validation from others.
