The Agona West Constituency Branch Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prince Aboagye, has been arraigned before the Accra Circuit Court over alleged comments he made about former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on social media.

Prince Aboagye appeared in court on Monday as investigations continue into claims that he made remarks considered offensive toward the former Vice President.

According to the allegations, he described Dr. Bawumia as an “infidel” and claimed he was not fit to become president.

The case has attracted public attention as authorities continue to investigate alleged offensive statements targeting prominent political figures on social media.

His court appearance comes shortly after TikToker Aminat Mahama, widely known as “Bawumia Ba,” was re-arrested and brought before the same court over claims that she repeated alleged offensive comments about President John Dramani Mahama despite being granted bail in an earlier case.

Aminat Mahama was initially arrested by the Ghana Police Service over videos circulated online in which she allegedly made offensive remarks and threats against President Mahama.

The two cases have reignited public debate over freedom of expression, political commentary on social media, and the legal boundaries governing public speech in Ghana.

The court is expected to hear further details as proceedings continue, with more information on the charges and the outcome of the case likely to emerge in the coming days.
