“We broke up, and I lost my bond with my brother too” – Asantewaa opens up to Okyeame Kwame
Ghanaian content creator and influencer Mildred Asante, popularly known as Asantewaa, has confirmed that her relationship with musician and socialite AMG Armani has ended, while opening up about the emotional challenges she has faced following the breakup and a reported disagreement with her brother.
The revelation came during a surprise visit by Ghanaian rapper Kwame Nsiah-Apau, popularly known as Okyeame Kwame, who visited her home to offer encouragement and check on her wellbeing.
In a video shared on social media on July 19, 2026, Okyeame Kwame expressed concern over reports that the influencer was going through a difficult period and assured her of his support.
“I heard that you’re heartbroken. My wife and I are big fans, and we love you so much. We decided to come and see how you’re doing. That’s why I paid you a surprise visit. Is it really true that you’re broken?” Okyeame Kwame asked.
Responding to the rapper, Asantewaa confirmed that her relationship with AMG Armani had ended, revealing that the situation also affected her relationship with one of her siblings.
“I don’t know where to start from, but all I can say is that the relationship has ended. I lost a partner and my relationship with a sibling as well,” she said.
The influencer explained that her emotional appearance during a recent livestream was an attempt to address speculation surrounding her relationship and clarify comments made by her brother.
“I’ve been wanting to clear something, so I went live, and I got so emotional. I had a motive for going live a few days ago. I wanted to clarify that I’ve ended things with AMG Armani and, for whatever reason, my brother stepped in. I wanted Ghanaians to disregard whatever he said because I didn’t say anything concerning my brother,” she stated.
According to Asantewaa, the disagreement between her and her former partner was separate from her brother, but he allegedly used the situation to make negative comments about her publicly.
“Whatever the issue was between my man and I had nothing to do with him, but he had personal issues with me, picked on that and used it as an opportunity to say a lot of filthy things about me. He said I’m so irresponsible and I’m chasing clout, so I should stop all the foolish things that I’m doing,” she explained.
She added that many people misunderstood the situation because her last public appearance with her brother gave the impression that they were still close.
“I wouldn’t have come live if Ghanaians knew that we are not cool. The last time they saw us, we were very cool and whatever you say, people will take it. He’s not been part of my life for some time now, so he doesn’t really know if I have parted ways with my partner or not,” she noted.
Asantewaa admitted that although her intention was only to clarify matters, the emotional weight of the situation caused her to break down during the livestream.
“That was my main reason for coming live, but unfortunately, I got emotional and broke down into tears. I’m fine now and active,” she said.
The influencer also expressed appreciation to Okyeame Kwame for making time to visit her during the challenging period, describing the gesture as unexpected.
“Thank you so much for coming. I’d really be surprised if someone had told me that you would come and see me. A lot of people are coming here to cheer me up, but I didn’t know Okyeame Kwame cares for me enough to come see me,” she added.
Asantewaa’s revelation has since sparked conversations online about relationships, family conflicts and the pressures public figures face when dealing with personal struggles in the public eye.
