The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the disbursement of funds to support the purchase of perishable items for students in Senior High Schools (SHS) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHTS) across the country.

In a letter dated July 15, 2026, and addressed to all Regional Directors of Education, the GES stated that the funds, covering the period from March 1 to September 4, 2026, have been credited to the accounts of the various SHS and SHTS.

The Service instructed Regional Directors to inform heads of schools and ensure that the funds are used appropriately and properly accounted for.

Heads of SHS and SHTS have also been directed to provide official receipts as evidence of receiving the funds. The receipts are to be submitted to the Director-General of the GES through their respective Regional Accountants.

The directive was signed by the Deputy Director-General in charge of Quality Assurance and Improvement, Munawaru Issahaque, on behalf of the GES Director-General.

The release of the funds is expected to help schools provide meals and other essential perishable supplies for SHS 2 and SHS 3 students during the approved period.
