“I’m suing her heavily” — Appiah Stadium responds to viral hotel allegation
Political commentator Frank Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as Appiah Stadium, has publicly responded to allegations made by a TikTok user who accused him of abandoning her at a hotel after she refused to accompany him to his room.
The controversy began after the woman shared a video on social media claiming Appiah Stadium contacted her through a mutual acquaintance on TikTok and invited her to meet him at the Gallery Hotel. According to her, she believed the meeting was for a professional opportunity, such as a promotional deal or contract.
She alleged that during their conversation, Appiah Stadium asked her to accompany him to his room, but she declined. The woman claimed he then left the venue without informing her, switched off his phone, and left her to find her own way home.
She said that, “I thought maybe he wanted to promote me or offer me a contract. My mindset was completely positive. I finally asked him, ‘Please, why did you call me?’ I genuinely wanted to know because I thought it was about business. Immediately, I said, ‘No, I don’t want to go to your room.’ He paused, started scrolling through his phone, then stood up and said, ‘Sorry,’ before walking away. I kept calling him because it was getting late, but his phone had been switched off. By that point, I realised he wasn’t coming back because I had refused to go to his room. So I booked a ride and went home. The whole issue for me is the disrespect.”
Responding in a self-recorded video, Appiah Stadium dismissed the allegations and insisted that he had no improper intentions. He claimed the woman had her own agenda and questioned why she secretly recorded someone she had only just met.
The outspoken political commentator further disclosed that he intends to take legal action against the woman despite receiving what he described as a written apology. According to him, the apology is unacceptable unless it is delivered publicly in a video, similar to the one she used to level the allegations against him.
“I have helped many people in this country. I even asked my son, Bawa, to reach out to her so I could appreciate her. But why would you secretly record someone you do not know? She had her own intentions. The lady should get ready because I am suing her heavily. I will not accept the written apology. She should apologise the same way she made the video. At my age, what do I need that kind of life for? Unless the Asantehene or President Mahama can intercede for you,” he narrated.
The incident has generated intense discussion on social media, with opinions divided over the competing accounts. While the woman maintains she was treated unfairly, Appiah Stadium insists the allegations have damaged his reputation and says he is prepared to pursue the matter through the courts unless a public apology is made.
