Mother and children trapped as floodwater submerge their home at Kuwait
A mother and her children were trapped inside their home at Kuwait, a suburb of Tuba in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region, after floodwaters inundated the house while they were asleep.
According to reports, the family was sleeping when floodwaters suddenly entered the room, leaving them trapped inside. The mother and her children were reportedly found floating on their mattress as the water level continued to rise.
Residents are appealing to the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) and the government to urgently rescue the family and provide assistance following the destruction caused by the heavy rains.
As of the time of this report, no rescue operation had been carried out, and the victims remained trapped, awaiting help.
Meanwhile, residents have also expressed concern over a deteriorating bridge in the area, which they say poses a serious threat to lives and property.
According to them, they have lodged several complaints with the Ga South Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), but no action has been taken to address the situation.
