Daddy Lumba’s sister pleads for help to find his remains

The elder sister of late Ghanaian highlife icon Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, has made a heartfelt public appeal for assistance in locating her brother’s body, revealing that she has been unable to see his remains since his passing.

Speaking to the media, Ernestina Fosu said the painful uncertainty has denied her the opportunity to pay her final respects to her younger brother, describing the experience as one of the most difficult moments of her life.

“This is difficult to accept because I can’t set my eyes on my brother anymore. He’s dead, but I don’t know where he’s being laid. I’ve not seen him since his demise,” she said.

Ernestina also criticised social media users who have attacked the family over the circumstances surrounding the whereabouts of the legendary musician’s body, urging them to show compassion instead of judgment.

“Anyone who is taking advantage of this and insulting the family, bear in mind that if you’re a mother and your son went through exactly what happened to Charles, would you be happy?” she questioned.

According to her, nearly a year after Daddy Lumba’s death, she remains hopeful that authorities and influential persons will intervene to help her locate his remains and finally allow her to say goodbye.

“I don’t have much to say, but all I can say is it’s been almost a year, so I’m pleading with those who have authority and a voice in this country to find where my brother’s body is so that I can see him and talk to him. Sadly, my own blood is dead, and I don’t know where he is,” she pleaded.

She stressed that criticism directed at the family no longer concerns her, insisting that her only wish is to find closure.

“I’m too old to think about those insulting us because of this situation. I just want to see my brother and nothing more,” she stated.

Daddy Lumba, regarded as one of Ghana’s greatest highlife musicians, died after decades of shaping the country’s music industry with timeless classics and an unmatched legacy. Since news of his death, questions surrounding funeral arrangements and the handling of his remains have continued to generate public discussion.
